\nInformation Communication and Technology<\/strong><\/p>\n
At PPSS, our Information Communication and Technology (ICT) continues to grow and evolve alongside research based evidence.<\/p>\n
Our approach uses computers for educational purposes in the classroom. These include:\u00a0iPads, dedicated computer lab,\u00a0mobile TouchTV\u2019s and Interactive Whiteboards to help engage and enhance classroom development.<\/p>\n
The Independent Living Skills House or \u2018The House\u2019, is a house located on the school grounds.\u00a0This house, donated by THEISS\u00a0is a standalone building\u00a0where the students can further practise and consolidate their daily living skills through domestic activities.<\/p>\n Each term, students come to the house and undertake important tasks such as cooking and healthy eating,\u00a0domestic tasks such as sweeping, washing dishes and laundry and personal grooming.<\/p>\n Our gardens, supported by Calvert-Jones Foundation, provide students with access to growing maintaining and harvesting vegetables. These vegetables and herbs support the healthy living programs in the house, school caf\u00e9 and canteen. In addition students develop work related skills.<\/p>\n Our\u00a0senior playground (redeveloped\u00a02014) offers an engaging physical\u00a0space for students to\u00a0develop coordination, fitness, stamina, sports skills including teamwork and social interaction.<\/p>\n This is a teaching and learning space.<\/p>\n Our junior playground\u00a0supports explorative play, imaginative play, teacher directed play,\u00a0physical, social and sensory development. Predominantly\u00a0Early Years children access outdoor learning programs in this space.<\/p>\n The Peppercorn Yard is\u00a0a specific space designed by Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists and caters for the diverse sensory\u00a0needs of our children, this includes trampoline, swings and climbing equipment.<\/p>\n PPSS students enjoy having access to our school pool.<\/p>\n It is here our Hydrotherapy Programs are undertaken combining the skills of our aquatics teacher, physiotherapist and allied health assistant to unlock the therapeutic benefits of the water.<\/p>\n Our pool gives our students access to enriching sensory experiences, physical activity and water safety lessons.<\/p>\n All students living within the school\u2019s transport zone are provided with government funded transport to and from school.<\/p>\n Port 精东传媒 Specialist School\u2019s transport zone extends through the south-eastern suburbs of Albert Park, Malvern, Caulfield, Carnegie\u00a0and St Kilda.<\/p>\n![\"ICT1\"](\"http:\/\/portphillip.vic.edu.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/ICT1.jpg\")
